GOP Turns On Trump (Not That They Ever Supported Him)

Wall Street Journal

‘The most concerted effort is Trump Card LLC, the self-styled guerrilla campaign being launched by Liz Mair, the former online communications director of the Republican National Committee.

“In the absence of our efforts, Trump is exceedingly unlikely to implode or be forced out of the race,” according to the Trump Card memo. “The stark reality is that unless something dramatic and unconventional is done, Trump will be the Republican nominee and Hillary Clinton will become president.”

‘…and Hillary Clinton will become president’ as opposed to what would happen if Jeb! or some other wimpy GOP gets the nomination?

  1. The Establishment might be surprised at the kind of support Trump will generate at the polls versus Hillary Clinton. They can’t imagine how regular people could turn out to support a real choice in an election rather than the phony performers whom they present to the people every four years. To be sure, many will turn out in order to oppose a Trump presidency, but so long as Whites are still the majority, I think that Trump has a good chance of winning in a fair election against the uninspiring Hillary Clinton.

In any case, the Establishment will try to tear Trump down like they did to Sarah Palin in 2008, with non-stop attacks, real and made-up, on every facet of his person. In the face of a relentless assault, the dum-dum citizenry might start to believe the lies and manipulation, though it’s possible that even the common people have learned to smell bullshit when it’s presented. We will see.

I still strongly doubt that Trump will win the nomination. I can’t see how a true outsider could win the presidency without at least some Establishment support. They would rather kill an outsider, I’d think, than risk letting him win. If they don’t kill Trump and he wins the nomination, even the Establishment cuckservatives will throw their support behind the designated loser Clinton, much as they don’t trust her loyalty either.

Or, it’s possible that Trump was an insider all along, and they plan to use him to thoroughly discredit the ideals of the conservative/traditionalist population (while betraying them) and possibly lead the U.S. to its destruction as a world power.
